branded cables (solid colors) – Updated 04/17/05
I have learned that MOTM
users are a picky lot. That’s good and probably WHY
they are MOTM customers. Some of you did not like the translucent cable choice
for the official Synthesis Technology branded cables. I heard your cries and am
making other cables available to those of you who did not want the translucent
Rapco cables. And, my Wise Guy cables are available with 3.5 mm ends.
These cables will be branded
"Wise Guy Synth" on the heatshrink. I am using regular
text instead of the logo that appears on the Rapco cables to save the $100 logo
set-up
fee with # 2 cable company.
The plugs will be a similar
Neutrik NYS224 (Switchcraft 280 equivalent) as those
on Synthesis Technology logo cables (see photos below). The cable is Belden
professional instrument cable, 20 gauge conductor, 90% spiral copper shield
(very
nice stuff).

These cables are now
available with high quality 3.5 mm ends. You may specify
the cables with 3.5 mm connectors on both ends or you can have ¼" on one
end and
3.5 mm on the other. I am pretty excited about the 3.5 mm connectors used
by this
vendor. Instead of the common, small barrel, cheap feeling connectors, I have
seen
in the past, these are full size barrels for full size cable. It is the most
substantial 3.5
mm phone plug I have ever seen. Please see the photo below. I shot these connectors
side-by side in the same photograph. So, the size relationship is exactly as
you see it.

The price of my wise guy cables
is different than the Synthesis Technology cables.
And the price varies depending on connector. These nice G&H 3.5 mm
connectors
are more expensive than the ¼” phone plugs. Here are the prices:
Pricing for the cables with
¼” ends on both ends of the cable:
1 foot $5.35; 2 feet $5.50; 3 feet $5.75; 4 feet $6.00; 5 feet $6.25; 6 feet
$6.45.
Pricing for the cables with
¼” on one end 3.5 mm on the other end of the cable:
1 foot $6.05; 2 feet $6.15; 3 feet $6.25; 4 feet $6.35; 5 feet $6.45; 6 feet
$6.55.
Pricing for the cables with
3.5 mm connectors on both ends is:
1 foot $6.25; 2 feet $6.35; 3 feet $6.45; 4 feet $6.55; 5 feet $6.65; 6 feet
$6.75.
While I have prices listed
for 1 through 6 feet, you can order any length you please.
Cables over 6 feet in length will be the price of a 6 foot cable plus 25 cents
for each
additional foot of cable.
